1) The frequency of voting in the nomination Weird NFT of the month has changed

How was it before?

Last year voting was held every month.

How is it now?

This year we decided to conduct voting once a quarter. At the same time, the nominations themselves remained unchanged. Now, the community votes every three months and chooses winners for each of the past three months. The voting period has been extended to 15 days (from the 1st to the 15th of April, July, October and January) — now there is even more time to vote for the works you like!

2) The number of nominees in the Weird NFT of the month nomination has changed

How was it before?

Last year, eight nominees were nominated each month for the Weird NFT of the month nomination. NFTs ranked first, second, and third in the voting were automatically eligible to participate in the annual final.

How is it now?

This year, the number of nominees has been reduced to five, and only the winner of the vote is eligible to participate in the annual final. The best of the best will fight for the main prize!

3) The voting period in the nomination Weird NFT of the year has been changed

The voting for the 2021 nomination was held at the end of January 2022, this year we decided to postpone the voting to February 2023 and increase the voting period to 15 days, from February 1 to February 15. Taking into account the transition to quarterly voting in monthly nominations, this will allow for a more even distribution of voting community activity.

4) New nomination “Jury’s Choice”

This year we decided to establish an additional nomination in which we want to encourage the most interesting works from a conceptual point of view. Our jury will include several representatives of the organizers of the Award — studios Gatia Labs, as well as invited digital artists, NFT influencers and experts in art and design.

5) Changed the method of open voting

How was it before?

Last year, we used Google Forms to vote. It’s simple, free, and easy to set up. However, we abandoned it. There was no protection against cheating in Google forms, so we had to set the limit “one vote per account”. This created some inconvenience for those wishing to vote, because they had to have a Google account and log into it.

How is it now?

You no longer need a Google account to vote. From now on, all voting takes place on our official website and does not require registration and authorization either with us or on any third-party services. And the anti-fraud system developed by us provides protection against repeated voting and allows you to detect attempts to cheat votes. Voting has become even easier and more convenient!
